Cirrus SR22

 Cirrus SR22

The Cirrus SR22 became the best selling recreational aircraft in 2002 and remains so to this date. It can fly at greater speeds and have more range than other aircraft of its type due to advanced aerodynamics.

Standard equipment on the SR22 is a 310 hp engine, global positioning system, autopilot, and a special recovery parachute.

A Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) is deployed by being pulled from the aircraft by a small rocket until the chute is clear of the aircraft.

Cirrus SR22 pilots report the aircraft as fun and easy to fly. There is ample interior room front and back. The glass cockpit multi function displays show minimal reflections, are clear, intuitive, and easy to use.

Rotation speed of the Cirrus SR22 is around 86 mph with three average size people, full fuel, and no luggage aboard. Pilots tell of a smooth ride, even in typical late summer day chop. The aircraft can easily and economically cruise at over 190 mph. If you are willing to sacrifice a little fuel economy, you can bump the cruising speed up to around 213 mph.

Cirrus SR22 aircraft are not rated for aerobatics, however quick maneuvering will be rewarded with solid tracking and instant response. Stalls are very predictable and gentle. The aircraft will settle down on the runway just as you would expect. Just keep the approach speed steady and settle in for a smooth landing.

Some 5,200 Cirrus SR22 aircraft have been produced to date.
