The RAF Aerobatic Team team flies the Red Arrow jet BAE Hawk. The team originally had a total of seven pilots. In their first year of performing they flew a total of 65 exhibits.

In 1966 two additional airplanes were added to the team for a total of nine. It was at that time that they adopted the diamond formation that became the trademark of the Red Arrows team.

The Red Arrows team pilots are supported by approximately 100 team members. They began flying their current aircraft, the BAE Hawk jet trainer in 1979. For more aircraft information including video, specifications, overview and RC airplanes click here.

CARF Models has the RC Red Arrow from Skygate in kit form or as an ARF.  It has a molded fuselage, 98 in. wingspan with a 125 in length. Dry weight is around 45 lbs. It needs from 160 to 200 N thrust turbine engine for power.

The Phoenix Model ARF RC Red Arrow is of all wood construction and includes retracts.  Its wingspan is 51.2 in. and length is 50.4 in.  It needs your 1750 kV motor turning a 90 mm EDF unit producing a minimum of 6 lbs. of thrust.  All up weight is around 6 1/2 lbs.
